THE BIGGER AIM
I actually have a bigger aim with all of this, one that I first realised after I went through this process in a very similar way in 2002 – although the process I guide people through is an evolution with a great many additions and enhancements.
That aim is to spread the word on just how amazing the Twelve Steps and going on your own exciting personal Hero’s Journey is – for everyone.
I really believe everybody needs to do this – to find their true potential, to be their greatest ideal.
YOUR VERY OWN PERSONAL HERO'S JOURNEY
It’s why virtually all the world’s most popular stories – from Greek myths and Norse legends to the stories in religious books and bestselling novels throughout the centuries and Hollywood blockbusters and nearly all stories right up to now – are urging us to go on our very own personal Hero’s Journey.
The main character is the same, just presented differently and we identify with them. Then they go on the same story, but again it's presented differently in a really varied number of ways.
But our ancestors from as far back as we can go and up to now were and are all driven by the same innate aim.
That is to let us know that we need to do as the main character is doing, to find the hero inside. "Hero" derives from a word meaning "protector" – so it means you feel safe, free from needless worries and anxieties in your life.
The man who realised the concept of the Hero’s Journey, a genius Professor of Literature called Joseph Campbell, said: “The goal of the Hero’s Journey is yourself finding yourself.”
12 STEPS TO 1 HERO
My book 12 Steps To 1 Hero is all about this – and the absolutely astonishing parallel between the 12 Steps and the 12 stages of the Hero’s Journey.
That book has now proven extraordinarily successful as a guidebook for people to go on their very own personal Hero’s Journey.
